There’s something life-changing about camp — especially when it’s a place where kids with epilepsy feel safe, supported, and free to just be themselves. Our camp programs offer unforgettable experiences for children and teens living with epilepsy, with built-in safety, friendship, and fun at every turn.
Led by trained counselors and on-site medical staff, every camp is designed with epilepsy in mind — giving parents peace of mind and campers the freedom to grow, try new things, and make lasting memories.
We believe camp should be accessible to all kids — no matter their age, ability, or comfort level. That’s why we offer a variety of programs to meet different needs:
🏞️ Camp Oz
Our flagship overnight summer camp for kids with epilepsy — a place to build independence, meet new friends, and experience the magic of camp in a safe, inclusive environment.
☀️ Day Camp
A great option for younger campers or those new to epilepsy camp. Offers classic camp fun without the overnight stay.
🏡 Family Camp
An opportunity for the whole family to connect, share experiences, and enjoy camp together — especially helpful for families newer to an epilepsy diagnosis.
Since 1983, Camp Oz has offered a safe, welcoming, and fun-filled traditional summer camp experience for youth ages 9–17 living with epilepsy. Designed for campers with a high level of independence, Camp Oz features activities like swimming, horse tending, archery, team-building challenges, and much more — all tailored to create unforgettable memories and build confidence.

Family Camp welcomes youth with epilepsy ages 5 and up who have additional healthcare needs — including medical, emotional, developmental, or social support. This camp is designed for the whole family to participate, with at least one adult or caregiver present during the session. Activities are thoughtfully paced to accommodate every family’s needs, and accessible paths make mobility aids welcome, ensuring everyone can enjoy the fun and connection.

“I was so excited to be at Camp Oz because it was the first time I had ever stayed away from my parents. I wanted to go to Camp Oz because I wanted to make new friends and I love to be independent,” says Shreya.
Mara LeRoy is always looking for her next activity. She recently learned about indoor skydiving, which naturally she had to try, and just finished up her eighth year of adapted downhill skiing. She’s eager now for the snow to back off and plans to attend the Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota’s (EFMN) Family Camp for the third consecutive year this July. Mara has had epilepsy her whole life, but because she uses a wheelchair to get around she hasn’t been able to attend Camp OZ. She has found Family Camp to be a fun day camp that offers some great activities.
In addition to our camp programming, we offer a Shining Star program specifically for youth to help kids and teens with epilepsy meet and support each other.
