Connect Groups

Connection makes the difference.

When you’re living with epilepsy, or supporting someone who is, it’s easy to feel like no one truly understands. But you’re not alone, and you don’t have to navigate this by yourself. That’s why we offer virtual Connect Groups: a welcoming space to meet others impacted by epilepsy, share experiences, and find strength in community

Connect Groups are safe, welcoming spaces to meet others who’ve been there, share your story, and find community that listens and lifts you up. Whether you’re newly diagnosed or years into your journey, there’s a place for you here.

Groups meet monthly and are tailored to different needs and life stages. Whether you’re a teen, young adult, parent, caregiver, or someone who’s grieving, you’ll find people who truly understand.

Connection is more than conversation — it’s care, community, and healing.

Group Guidelines
  • What’s shared in the group stays in the group. We protect privacy and confidentiality.
  • Share the air. Everyone who wants to speak gets a chance.
  • Speak from your own experience. Use “I” language and avoid giving advice unless asked.
  • Be kind and respectful. We welcome different views and value supportive conversation.
  • Join on time. Meetings begin promptly and follow a guided format.
  • Seizure safety is a priority. Facilitators are trained in seizure first aid.
  • Make new friends, safely. We don’t share contact info — but you’re welcome to connect outside of meetings.
What to Expect

Connect Groups are guided by respect, trust, and shared experience. Most meetings are open discussion, while others may focus on a topic or feature a guest speaker. We keep the format flexible, so there’s room for both structure and open sharing.

Meet Ryan Lais

Ryan found Connect Groups helpful when he became an adult and had a totally different set of anxieties in his life. That support led him to joining our Regional Advisory Committee and working to help others.
