Rain or Shine, We Walk Together: Minnesota Epilepsy Walks Raise $209,262 for Epilepsy Support

- Epilepsy Walk

1,247 participants. $209,262 raised. One incredible community.

Rain couldn’t keep our community away.

On Saturday, September 26, hundreds of people gathered at Wolfe Park for our final 2026 Epilepsy Walk. While the skies may have been gray, the energy, determination, and heart of our community shined brightly throughout the day.

Despite the weather, 743 participants came together to walk, connect, share their stories, and show their support for the epilepsy community on Saturday in Wolfe Park. Thanks to the incredible generosity of walkers, donors, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters across all of our 2026 Walk events, we’ve raised an amazing $209,262 to support people impacted by epilepsy throughout Minnesota.

The Twin Cities Walk was a beautiful reminder of what makes this community so special. Families, friends, coworkers, healthcare providers, and individuals living with epilepsy stood side by side, united by a shared commitment to ensuring no one faces epilepsy alone.

Throughout the day, we saw teams celebrating loved ones, honoring personal journeys, reconnecting with friends, and making new connections. Every conversation, every donation, and every step reflected the strength of a community that continues to show up for one another year after year.

To everyone who joined us, thank you. Thank you for sharing your stories, for raising awareness, for fundraising, and for helping create a welcoming and supportive community for people impacted by epilepsy. Your presence made a difference, and your support will continue making a difference long after Walk Day has ended.

The funds raised through the Epilepsy Walk directly support the Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota’s mission to connect, support, and empower people impacted by epilepsy. Because of this community’s generosity, individuals and families across Minnesota have access to educational programs, support services, advocacy initiatives, community events, and meaningful opportunities for connection.

Every dollar raised represents hope, support, and a reminder that nobody has to navigate epilepsy on their own. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has contributed to making this year’s Walk season such a success.

We are also deeply grateful to our emcee, Mike Marcotte, whose enthusiasm helped keep spirits high throughout the day, as well as our dedicated volunteers, vendors, and staff members who worked tirelessly behind the scenes. Whether you helped set up, cheered on participants, provided entertainment, captured memories, or supported event operations, you helped create an experience that was welcoming, meaningful, and memorable for everyone who attended.

Even with the rain, the Twin Cities Walk was filled with moments we’ll never forget. We saw laughter, tears, hugs, celebrations, and countless reminders of the power of community. These are the moments that inspire us and remind us why we continue this work.

Whether this was your first Walk or you’ve been part of the epilepsy community for many years, thank you for being part of something bigger than a single event. Together, we are building awareness, creating connections, and making sure that people impacted by epilepsy feel seen, supported, and empowered.

There’s Still Time to Make an Impact

While Walk Day has come to an end, the impact continues.

Together, we’ve raised $209,262, and fundraising remains open through the end of the year. If you haven’t yet had the opportunity to give, there’s still time to support the Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota and help ensure that individuals and families across our state continue to have access to critical programs, resources, and support.

Every gift matters. Every contribution helps strengthen our community. And every act of generosity helps us move closer to a future where no one has to face epilepsy alone.
