Seizure Recognition & Response Trainings Since 1 in 10 Americans have had or will have a seizure of some type in their life, knowing how to properly respond to a seizure is critical and could be life saving. The Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota’s Seizure Recognition & Response Training is a free community resource that provides participants the opportunity to understand how to identify seizures, know what to do during a seizures and overcome the myths and misperceptions surrounding seizures and epilepsy. This free training is available to businesses, employers, organizations, service groups - any organization or business that works with the public.
Seizure Recognition & Response for School Personnel The Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota also offers Seizure Recognition & Response Training for school personnel. This training includes how to identify a seizure, what to do and not to do during a seizure, when a seizure is an emergency and acceptance and management in the classroom. This is a free training available for schools.
Seniors and Seizures The Seniors and Seizures program is for seniors, caregivers and those who work and care for those with seizures over the age of 60. This is a one hour training that provides the participants the opportunity to: understand how to identify seizures, to respond to a seizure, be aware of what NOT to do during a seizure, recognize when a seizure is an emergency and dispel the myths and misconceptions surrounding epilepsy. This is a free training available to any organization or business working with seniors.
Seizure Smart Schools Classroom Education These free classroom presentations are designed to educate students about seizures and how to properly respond to a classmate having a seizure.
Epilepsy ABC's This program is designed to educate elementary school students about epilepsy and seizures and encourages acceptance of differences.
Find out the Facts This program is designed to educate middle school students about epilepsy and seizures, as well as dispel the myths around epilepsy.
Seizures and You: Take Charge of the Facts This program designed to educate high school students about epilepsy, thereby creating a more understanding and supportive environment for teens with epilepsy.
