Seizure Smart Communities Seizure Smart Communities are communities that are educated about seizures and people with epilepsy feel connected and have the resources they need to manage their epilepsy.
Seizure Recognition & Response Training These free trainings teach people how to recognize a seizure and how to properly respond to someone having a seizure. Seizure Recognition & Response Trainings are available to a variety of audiences.
Seizure Smart Schools Ensuring that kids with seizures have the best possible school experience, this program partners with teachers, school nurses, parents and kids to make their schools Seizure Smart.
Conferences Two educational conferences are offered annually. The Duluth Conference is held in the summer and the Midwest Regional Conference is held in the Twin Cities in the fall. |

Camp Oz A week-long residential camp for kids and teens with epilepsy, Camp Oz has been offering a camping experience to youth since 1983. Camp Oz is offered the third week of June each summer at YMCA Camp St. Croix in Hudson, WI.
Family Events To ensure that people don't feel isolated, the Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota offers a variety of recreational events throughout the year designed to connect kids, adults and families affected by epilepsy.
Shining Star Program & Winning Kid A program that celebrates children with epilepsy, the Shining Star Program insures that children with seizures no longer feel isolated or alone. Each year, the Epilepsy Foundation selects a Winning Kid from the Shining Star program to represent the organization and to help raise awareness of epilepsy and seizures.
Information & Referral Services This program connects people to information, resources and community agencies that serve people with seizures. Whether you are newly diagnosed, or have had epilepsy your entire life, the Epilepsy Foundation of MInnesota is here to help you connect with information and resources.

Empower:
Stroll for Epilepsy While the Stroll for Epilepsy is the largest fundraiser for the Epilepsy Foundation of MInnesota, it is also an event that raises awareness of epilepsy and seizures as well as an opportunity for people to get involved, take action and support people with seizures.
Creative Arts The Brainstorms Art Collection showcases the talents of people with epilepsy. Each year, the Foundation collects artwork that is then displayed at a variety of venues in hopes of bringing epilepsy awareness to everyone.
The Epilogues Writing Collection started in 2007. Anyone affected by epilepsy, including loved ones and caregivers, are encouraged to submit written work that is then compiled and shared. The Creative Arts Committee is proud to announce a new creative arts category and happy to formally invite people with seizure disorders to submit a performance piece to the Cadenzas Performing Arts Collection. Selected recipients will perform at the annual Inner Voice Inner Strength event on October 15, 2010 at Patrick's Cabaret. Please click here for our entry form and details. Advocacy You are your best advocate. The Epilepsy Foundation helps people advocate on behalf of themselves whether it be with their employer or their school. In addition, the organization provides advocacy opportunities that impact legislation.

Youth Advisory Council The Youth Advisory Council helps guide and direct youth programs while providing our young students with epilepsy the opportunity to lead and make a difference.
Elam Baer & Janis Clay Educational Scholarships Each year, ten $1,000 educational scholarships are awarded to students in MN or ND.
April Schmitz Memorial Scholarship In April's memory, this $1000 scholarship is given each year to a student from Cook, Lake, St. Louis, Koochiching, Itasca, Aitkin, Carlton, Pine, Lake of the Woods, Beltrami, Cass, Superior or Douglas counties. |
